  • When I first launched the game it did that, but the second time it worked fine
  • I have tried many times to start the program, it does this every time.  Thanks though.
  • Greetings quirthanon!

To help us better track this issue, can you tell us what antivirus software you're using (if any)?

Does it also happen if you try running the launchpad.exe directly from the installation directory?
  • Changing the install location from default does not help either.
  • I'm using Avira, but I don't see any issues with that.  Not saying it's not related, but there are no notices.

Turing off Avira and launching from the install folder results in the same issue.
  • Hmm, the only thing I can think of is the installer failed to install the gtk dependency.

Can you try installing the gtk# from http://www.mono-project.com/download/#download-win

Reboot computer and try again after. Let me know if that worked.
  • I've installed the GTK# manually and I just confirmed that the "Gtk# for .Net 2.12.42" is installed with the program. Still doesn't work.

I've installed it on another computer, running Win 7, and it seems to run fine, it gets to the file download screen and starts the downloads.  No restart was required to use it on this computer.

    Here's the Launchpad log:

  • Hm, that's weird, it doesn't seem to want to recognize the GTK dependencies. Any chance you could give me a dxdiag of your machine? Send it to info@adventureroll.com

I'll have a look at your specs and see if I can narrow anything down for you.

Until then, try uninstalling the launcher with unins000.exe and see if re-installing it will fix the issue.
  • Email with info sent.
  • Uninstalling with unins000.exe and re-installing results in the same error.
  • Let me know if the steps I sent you helped any.
  • Repair install did not help.
    Updating driver did not help.

Running "sfc /scannow" did not find any errors.
  • Can you send me an updated launcher log?
  • New log.

  • After adding the location of "libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll" to the user path, it was already in the system path, and rebooting twice it seems to now be running.  Files are downloading.

    Thanks for the help.
  • Well, glad that issue got solved!

Thank you for the update, path was going to be my last resort, should have been my first :)
  • Hi there Alex, I'm commenting here to say I'm having the same issue and didn't want to create an entire new discussion thread. Could you email the same steps that you gave quirthanon in order to fix this issue?

    Thanks,
    The EpicNoob.
  • Hey The EpicNoob,

Can you check your system environment variables and make sure GtkSharp is in the Path?

System Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables > System > Path
  • For me it was already in the System path, I had to add it to the "user" path.
  • Thanks quirthanon!

Hope that helps you out The EpicNoob :)
  • How am I supposed to access system properties? Sorry I probably sound like such a tech illiterate, I promise I normally get things haha.
  • Quickest way to access it is:

    - Open File Explorer
    - Right click "This PC"
    - Properties
    - Click "Advanced System Settings"
    - Environment Variables button at the bottom
  • Then select "Path", in the top panel.
    Choose edit, top panel.
    Then choose "New".
If you installed gtkSharp in the default location.  Paste this:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\GtkSharp\2.12\bin

    Click"ok"
  • I'm so sorry I'm being a bother, but even with adding gtkSharp to my User path adventure roll is crashing on startup :/ Any ideas what's going wrong?
  • What's the OS you're using?
  • What's the OS you're using?
    Windows 10
  • Have you tried everything in this thread?
Post the launchpad log.  It's in this file, launchpad.log; it's located in the Adventure Roll folder.  Just the most recent run is needed.
  • haha, yeah I figured out where the log was cause I had a feeling it'd be asked for.

  • Did you restart after making the path change?
  • I thought I had, but I'll give it another reboot now just to be safe.

Edit: Even after a reboot, I am crashing as you were and receive the exact same statements in the log (timestamps obviously have changed).
